I’m Yana, your guide and biggest supporter as you learn to speak Russian.
I wanted my husband to belong – now I help you speak Russian with the people who matter most in your life.
I’m Yana, a native Russian speaker, translator and certified teacher (since 2008!) with firsthand experience of what it feels like to be left out of conversations that matter. My English husband was my inspiration – he knows all too well how frustrating it can be to sit quietly while everyone else chats away in Russian. Watching him struggle to join in made me realise I had to create a way to make Russian easier and more accessible for people like him and maybe for you, too!
Here’s the thing: learning Russian doesn’t have to feel like cracking open a textbook denser than a Tolstoy novel. My teaching superpower? Breaking things down so simply that even my 18-month-old twins (in their own adorable way) follow along. They’re my strictest critics and remind me every day that simplicity is the key to learning.
With over a decade of teaching experience, I’ve developed a method that works in real life – no fluff, no overwhelm. Clear explanations? Check. Engaging lessons? Check.
